Ian is a successful entrepreneur, investor, former Army officer, and a West Point graduate. Following a decorated career as a Military Intelligence Officer in the Army, Ian raised several millions of dollars to build two tech startups in NYC.  He also launched and managed a corporate venture fund, LMI Ventures, focused on emerging tech for government and defense use.  Ian has built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor while leading the NYC and Austin chapters of the non-profit organizations: BunkerLabs and VetsInTech.  His prior experience allows him to particularly excel in go-to-market strategies and execution as well as providing mentorship on optimal organizational and leadership structures. Ian provides mentorship and network extension to our founders and helps our investment coverage of the western United States. Ian Folau holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from West Point, an MBA from Cornell University, and a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communications from Middlebury College. He currently lives in Utah with his wife and five children.
